This can be by the use of legislation, policies, or court decisions to decide on how the use of languages and encourages language skills necessary to establish the use of the language. Examples of language policies include policies of assimilation, policies of non-intervention, policies of differentiated legal status, policies of promotion of the official language and many other policies.
